2007-08 Rams
The Rams have an absolutely overwhelming offence – just as good as last seasons. The key Pro Bowlers are back as well: Drew Bennett, Brian Leonard, and Randy McMichael – the number one group in the league. They also have a horse of a RB in Steven Jackson, who will rush, catch, score and come back for more this season. But will the defense improve this season – especially on the line backing end? Pisa Tinoisamoa and Will Witherspoon are a bit small, and there’s still a lack of depth to contend with. However ticket buyers can expect the Rams to balance out their lackluster defense – and continue far into the season.
The Rams also went out and signed cornerbacks Michael Hawthorne and Michael Stone to help out a secondary that struggled to hold opponents passing attacks last season. Another addition to the defense was defensive end Jay Williams, who should help the Rams out with the depth and leadership on the defensive line.
Previous Seasons
In the 2006 off-season the St. Louis Rams made a number of pick-ups in free agency to try and take their team to the Super Bowl once again. Everyone around the league knows that the weakness of the Rams has been their defense for a number of years know and management went out and made some changes to give the unit a much needed shot in the arm. They signed Pro Bowl linebackers Dexter Coakley and Chris Claiborne. Both players might be a little bit long in the tooth, but they both bring their “A” game to each and every contest.
